Preschool Classes
What happens during our preschool day?
We spend a few minutes playing and reuniting with our friends after arriving. During our welcome circle, we sing songs and discuss our plan for the day, and then we participate in a nature-based learning activity. After our activity, we have tea with a small snack while the teacher reads a story related to our daily lesson. We spend the rest of our morning in child-led play and outdoor exploration before closing circle. During closing circle, we reflect on what was learned and discovered, and we sing a farewell song to close out the day.
Our Focus
Our preschool class practices the Montessori Method with a Reggio Emilia approach. This class allows students to savor their childhood by offering a consistent place to explore, play, and learn at the pace of nature.
Early concepts in math, science, language arts, and history are introduced and scaffolded to create a holistic educational experience. We use multiple nature-based early childhood curricula including Wild Math, Wild Reading, and Your Natural Learner.
